This jeep according to the dealer is brand new. It is very clearly not stock. How does the warranty work on something like this? Also when did wranglers switch from being majority manual to majority automatic? Only 10% of JKU seem to be stick. Jeep needs to hurry up with their promised pickup as this thing is stupid overpriced at 80k

Lots of dealers around me sell wranglers with like 10-15k on them with tons of mods (winch, bumpers, lights, lift, wheels/tires) and ask for a number higher than MSRP when new... And people buy them so quick! Did I mention I live 20 minutes from DC? Definition of mall crawlers..

Still think they're badass though haha.

We live in the same area it seems. Jeeps are CRAZY popular here especially since the 4 door came out. It bothers me because land rover cites poor demand as its excuse to bring the defender over, same with Toyotas lack of land cruisers and 4x4 off road machines other countries get.

Dealers install stuff all the time, from pin striping to moon roofs to this. They warrant their own work. So, I would guess that you can only get covered work on the dealer installed parts from them and not other dealers of the same brand.

Some dealers sell small penis trucks with small penis wheels already on them.

One of my friends recd $25k as a trade on a 2010 four door Rubicon with 80k miles. Only cost like $35k when new. Used Jeeps have incredible value.

Also, stop with the manual lust. Realize that 10% or less of the population wants stick.

Why\when did jeepers start liking autos? I honestly always saw them like sports car, that is best served with a stick. These jeeps have 5 speed automatics so the manual is still more gears and thus more fuel efficient and prolly faster. Not to mention all the benefits you get off road like engine braking. The yj was stick only iirc. Tj had a low auto take rate and for some reason I’m seeing all jk autos which I guess I just don’t understand. I don’t think it would hurt jeep to make the Rubicon and sahara trims manual only to keep out the posers and resurrect the brands image

Sports cars? They’re mall crawler for people who are afraid of snow and want to look tough.

What rock have you been under? Autos have dominated in Jeeps since the 80s. At least in the Chicago area.

I agree on the Pickup. I still wouldn’t buy one new but it would be a great used rig.

Realize that 10% or less of the population wants stick.

Sometimes I think 7 of that 10% is here on Oppo.

You can engine brake with an auto lol, plus you don’t have a clutch to deal with. Autos are way better for off road.

What you are looking at there is an American Expedition Vehicles Brute Doublecab . These are serious off-road vehicles, many have been converted to HEMI-power along with heavy-duty axles and suspensions. They are covered by the Jeep Factory warranty. AEV is actually classed as an OEM. All the bumpers will work with the airbags etc.

I know there are a lot of stickered-up crappy kit-vehicles on some dealer lots, but this isn’t one. These are serious kit. They are the equivalent of a r-spec homologation special for the overland crowd.

Sadly, many are owned by previous H2-Hummer owners to the coffee shop and back, and parked with one wheel up on the curb to show their off-road capability.

Personally, I prefer the previous 2 door TJ-based models (cool example above). I hope to pick up a nicely equipped one on the used market one day. That bed is pretty sweet.

In the truck you posted what is the red thing on the roof? I see those on jeeps all the time and have no clue why they are there or what they do.

High lift jack. When you lift them enough, the factory jack isn't tall enough.

It’s a Hi-lift Jack . it's often regarded as an essential multi-use tool for off-roading. It’s a jack, a winch, a clamp, wood-splitter, whatever.

If you look for YJs or TJs, at least in the used market you will find the cheap 4cyl with stickshift, 6cyl and auto was always an option. As such, you will find the 4cyl and stick far more often. The low take on stick shift is not only due to the public, but the dealers also ordering only automatics for their lots, If you want a stick, be willing to travel or order it.

As a GM dealer, we had Black Widow GMC Sierras made by Souther Comfort MCM

Kinja'd!!!

As a dealer it is like conversion vans, the dealer has a contract with the outfitter, not GM in this case. When signing the contract, we made sure that the outfitter would cover the same warranty the truck would have come with stock. So if it was a part from the outfitter that failed (which was often with the aftermarket headlamps) that the vehicle was still covered under warranty, just they paid for the work and shipped that parts instead of GM. Though other places may do it different, so that’s stuff you’d want in your deal when buying the vehicle.
